I was reading through a blog of one of my friends, who adores fashion, and also, have noticed a lot of people going on about who their style icons are, and, while I don't know the first thing about fashion, I thought it would be interesting to write down who's styles I admire, and why.
The first one, has to be singer, Emilie Autumn. Her style is incredile, and it's completely unique. I've never seen anyone else pull of a style like this.
During the 'Enchant' era (2002-2005), she was very much inspired by etheral, faerie styles, as you can see in this photograph.Shown is an 1880s corset, available on the Meg Andrews web site, of bronze sateen cotton with a spoon busk and steel supports. The buff colored casings of the corset are embroidered with terracotta, yellow and cream twisted silk flowers across the top and the bottom. The top of the corset is trimmed with a machine-made braid in similar colors.
The registration mark, The Y & N Corset in an oval with The Y & N Diagonal Seam trademark Awarded Three Gold Medals, is stamped on the white cotton inside. The front opening of the corset has steel closures imprinted with "YN" -- the center with a taupe-colored tape woven with Y & N Diagonal Seam. The back of the corset has steel eyelet holes for a laced closing.

KixandtheCity shoes
As we are sure you have already heard, an eBay auction popped up earlier this week with the seller claiming to be selling a pair of Nate Robinson's "Game Worn (Contest Worn)" "KryptoNate" Nike Foamposite Lites. The thing is, Nate still has his game worn/contest worn KryptoNate Nike Foamposite Lites in his hands, literally, as you can see in the pic above that was taken about 10 minutes ago. As a matter of fact, they haven't gone anywhere since the contest, and Nate wore them earlier today for the taping of tonight's David Letterman show.
So if you won the eBay pair, the final bid was above $20K, and have paid already, you got got. Sorry.
And this is precisely why KixandtheCity.com does not, and will not, post eBay links of any kind.
And, a couple of our sources have informed us that the Kryptonate Nike Foamposite Lite is set to release, but, we will keep you updated on that.

Zac Posen fashion reviews
POSEN FOR AN AD: When Luis Venegas, publisher of the indie fashion magazine Fanzine137, offered Zac Posen a double spread to create his ideal ad, the designer jumped at the chance. He enrolled photographer Ellen von Unwerth, his stylist friend Christopher Niquet and model Alexandra Tomlinson for a day, and directed the shoot at his friend Lorraine Kirke’s house in December. “Once Ellen saw me singing Cole Porter, laying on top of Lorraine’s grand piano, she decided it had to be the spot for the picture,” Posen said.

The resulting visual — Posen’s first ad ever — appears in the spring-summer issue of the magazine, which features Lonnie Anderson on the cover and is available at such stores as Opening Ceremony and St. Mark’s Bookshop. Posen said his inspiration for the ad was a mix of Ava Gardner in the movie “The Barefoot Contessa” and classic Fifties Revlon advertising. In the shot, Tomlinson wears one of Posen’s spring leopard-kiss print powder pink dresses, and holds a cat.
“The hardest part was selecting the best image,” Posen said. “You want something that grabs the attention on the page and something that is simple…direct and cohesive. I wanted it to be pure and true to yourself and to your customer.” — Marc Karimzadeh

YSL fashion pics
YSL Elle is a bright pink perfume filled with synthetic florals and a touch of incense. The notes include lychee, citron, peony, jasmine, vetiver, patchouli and amber.
Robin, top perfume blogger at Now Smell This, compares YSL Elle to DKNY Delicious Night. She says: "Substitute pink pepper for the incense, and you've got the base of YSL Elle." Overall she says the scent is fresh and bright: "The opening is crisp and bright and sharp, already rather woody, and moderately sweet; in character, it is exceedingly fresh. The heart is peppery sheer florals - you'll catch the rose and the jasmine, but they're not assertive." Reviewers on Basenotes agree that YSL Elle perfume is a sharp citrus floral with woody tones.
If you love the idea of YSL Elle, but you want less of a sharp screeching introduction, try the summer editions of YSL Elle like YSL Elle Eau d'Ete.

versace dresses 2009
Certainly there are a few ways to view Versace’s recent resort collection. Some may just say: “Iks“. Others might say: “It’s… probably… not… that… bad.” I belong to the latter group of people, who unfortunately makes up a very minute number of the world population. Frankly speaking, I’m a Versace slut junkie and I cannot deny it. I can never say Versace is ugly. It’s sexy in its own way and this law holds true at all time!
Wearing that eyes-hurting red Atelier Versace dress, Jessica Biel is no match for her Met Gala chairman, Justin Timberlake. Jessica Biel’s dress is outrageous as worn by her. She must have taken style lessons from Victoria Beckham because they both ended up looking orange for this Most-Fashion Event! Jessica Biel’s Versace moment at the Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion Met Gala 2009 is beyond words! How would you describe her ensemble? Don’t miss the gallery after the jump!
I've always loved Bottega Veneta's simple elegance but the fall 2008 collection exceeds all expectations. The effortless chic tailoring, the draped jersey dresses, the understated, muted color palette, the accessories...all this draw out a new sense of simplicity: beautiful, well-structured, and simply brilliant.
Her Atelier Versace sparkling dress matched (too much, if you ask me!) the Jimmy Choo satin sandals (same nuance as the dress). She changed her usual pearl jewelry with Platinum jewelry by Neil Lane. Keeping her makeup really simple, she makes a discreet yet impressive appearance on an overmakeup-ed, overaccessorized Red Carpet. Do you prefer Angelina’s simple look or her trademark black? (more after the jump) (via celebutopia, justjared)
Ignoring those goofy, tall beanies, Burberry's fall 2008 collection is absolutely adorable with the overcoat being the focal point. Designer Christopher Bailey had in mind art-inspired and very appealing color and texture combinations worked from plain coats and boyish jackets to elaborated, couture like outerwear made from tiered feathers, suede sequins and fringed leather leaves.
